Pumpology® School offers hands-on demonstrations and classroom training from industry experts. Upon completion of training and successfully passing a comprehensive examination, attendees are recognized as certified Pumpologist.
Thompson Pump offers a variety of training throughout the year for distributors, dealers and end users. The trainings range from a lunch and learn at one of the branches to our three day Pumpology® School.
Thompson Pump holds an annual Pumpology® School. The three-day workshop includes training sessions for sales and service-oriented professionals from around the world on pumping fundamentals, dewatering and bypass applications, selecting the correct pumping equipment, designing, installing and maintaining pumping systems, troubleshooting, and pump maintenance. Upon completion of training and successfully passing a comprehensive examination, attendees are recognized as certified Pumpologist.
Each fall Thompson Pump hosts a one-day pump workshop at Daytona State College for continuing education units. The workshop is approved by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers, the Construction Industry Licensing Board and the Florida Rural Water Association. The six course segments are taught by board certified Thompson Pump employees. Topics covered include Calculating Total Dynamic Head, Principles of Pumping, Reading Pump Curves, Pump Sound Attenuation, Permanent Lift Station Backup Pump Systems, and Pump Failure Analysis and Troubleshooting.
