Primary duties include soliciting sales and rentals to contractors, municipalities and industrial accounts for a complete line of dewatering and bypass pumps, equipment and accessories throughout the branch territory
Educate customers and prospects on Thompson’s full line of pumps and equipment
Promote and grow Thompson’s capabilities in the areas of equipment maintenance, service and repairs
Make routine site visits, conduct product demos, represent Thompson at trade shows and attend bid conferences
Coordinate Thompson’s industry-leading 24-hour service response
Instruct customers on proper operation and use of equipment
Supply all documentation necessary to support the organization’s ability to deliver, invoice and file “Notice to Owner” information
Applicants who have experience in sales and installing sewer by-pass and dewatering systems are strongly encouraged to apply.
Experience in the sales or rental of portable construction pumps is highly desired
Will consider applicants with experience in the sales or rental of related portable/mobile construction equipment
A good mechanical aptitude and an understanding of the principles for diesel engines and pumps
Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficient mathematical skills
The ability to multi-task, think and react quickly under pressure is critical to this role

An Associates’ Degree (preferred) or equivalent relevant experience

Requisitions equipment, parts, supplies and materials used in the fabrication and welding of pumps and components.
Operates hoists, overhead cranes, powered industrial trucks, hand-held power tools and related material moving equipment.
Requires the ability to read and build parts from blueprints, technical drawings and plans.
Minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the operating principles of ARC, MIG, and oxygen/acetylene welding, cutting and brazing.
A proficiency test is required as a condition of employment.
High School diploma or GED required; completion of a technical/vocational training program is preferred.
Knowledge of industrial hydraulic pumps, including diagnosing and troubleshooting, is preferred but not required.
Experience complying with quality system requirements in an ISO, AS or NADCAP certified manufacturing environment a plus!
